Vivo announces X50, X50 Pro and X50 Pro+ flagship series first smartphone with a gimbal camera
Today evening in China, Vivo is going to be announcing the Vivo X50 and Vivo X50 Pro smartphones. Some reports have claimed that there might be a higher-edition phone called Vivo X50 Pro+. Vivo CEO Jerome Chen revealed through his Facebook page that the X50 series also will be coming to India soon. It remains to be seen whether the Vivo X50 series arrives in China this month in India.
Vivo India has not been actively selling launching X-series phones in India. The Vivo X21 was the last X-series smartphone from the brand for India. It had debuted within the country in May 2018. The Vivo X50 and X50 Pro are powered by Snapdragon 765G SoC and therefore the Vivo X50 Pro+ is rumored to be driven by Snapdragon 865. A fresh leak has carried the Vivo x50 pro specification of all three smartphones.

The Vivo X50 Pro+ is that the first phone to pack Samsung’s fresh 50MP ISOCELL GN1 1/1.3″ sensor. it is the first to mix the ISOCELL and Tetracell and it can do 12.5MP stills in binned mode with huge 2.4µm pixels.
The company says that together with the motion deblur algorithm and continuous focus tracking make the videos and stills look amazing in the dark. Speaking of night, all X50 handsets support Super Night Mode and Astro Mode for clear pictures of the night sky.
A periscope zoom camera promises up to 60x hybrid zoom called Hyper Zoom. The camera itself has an 8MP sensor and an F/3.0 lens with around 5x optical magnification (135mm). There’s also an 8MP ultrawide snapper with a 120-degrees field of view which will even be used for macro shots since the camera is capable of autofocusing just 2.5cm faraway from the topic.
The fourth 13MP f/2.5 unit may be a dedicated camera and judging by the focal distance, it offers 2x optical zoom so you do not need to get within the face of the topic.
Vivo x50 pro-specification-Display and features
Beyond photography, we are watching a 6.56″ OLED display and a Snapdragon 865 chipset. The Pro+ runs Funtouch OS 10.5 on top of Android 10.
The X50 Pro features another exciting camera setup – where the most camera has a gimbal-style stabilization that promises to deliver videos more stable than any of its competitors. It packs a rather less impressive 48MP sensor – the Sony IMX598 – but offers a faster f/1.6 aperture. The gimbal system that extends the rotation angle and anti-shake area significantly compared to the quality OIS systems nowadays.
The other three cameras are almost identical with the tiny exception of the periscope module offering slightly slower f/3.4 aperture. and therefore the selfie cam is 32MP with f/2.5 aperture
While the X50 Pro shares the extremely curved OLED of 1080 x 2376px resolution with a built-in fingerprint sensor, it comes with a Snapdragon 765G chipset.
A 4,315 mAh battery keeps the lights on and supports 33W fast charging with the charger within the box. While not explicitly confirmed we believe the Pro+ has the precise same battery capacity and charging speeds.
The vanilla X50 misses on the gimbal stabilization and therefore the periscope zoom and has designed as its key point.
In fact, the vanilla Vivo X50 is that the thinnest 5G phone measuring just 7.49mm. It too runs on the Snapdragon 765G chipset and packs a 6.56-inch AMOLED of an equivalent resolution as its siblings, only this point the panel is flat.
Vivo x50 pro specification – Camera
The punch-hole houses a 32MP camera a bit like on the X50 Pro and X50 Pro+. There’s the littlest of differences within the aperture – the X50 has an F/2.48 lens vs F/2.45 for the professional phones.
Around the back, you get an equivalent 48MP sensor with f/1.6 aperture as on the X50 Pro but it uses standard OIS rather than the advanced solution on the more premium phone. The ultrawide and therefore the 13MP “short” telephoto cameras remain an equivalent.
The juice is provided by a 4,200 mAh battery which will be charged at 33W with the included charging brick.
