The solution here is (for OFFICE 2010) OPEN UP WORD, FILE > OPTIONS > TRUST CENTER. Then click the TRUST CENTER button > Protected View, and UNTICK ALL 3 BOXES.
Log out, log in and try open email attachments ! 🙂
